Gorgoza Dog Park

Gorgoza Dog Park is a great place to take your dogs in the summer in Kimball Junction, UT. The reservoir is perfect for throwing your pup water toys, and if you need a little more activity, you can walk up the hill to get a nice view of Summit Park, Utah and look down to Gorgoza. Dogs are allowed off leash here, and as always, dog poop must be picked up. In the Winter time, Gorgoza turns into a Winter sledding hill, and the pond is not available for swimming, however, you can still walk your dog around the hillside.

From SLC take I-80 East through Parley's Canyon. Take exit 140 for Summit Park. Follow the frontage road East for 1.7 miles, until you see the reservoir and parking lot on your right. There are no restrooms.

Elevation gain: 400 ft

Time: 1 hour

The parking lot is fairly small, with about 10 parking spaces. If it is full, the large parking lot on the West side is available.

As you walk around the reservoir, you'll see this sign. Gorgoza Dog Park is NOT part of the watershed, therefore dogs are allowed and allowed off leash. However, this sign is merely saying that all dog poop must be picked up. That's expected everywhere though, right? ;)

We walked up the small hill directly south of Gorgoza, which is only 0.7 miles to the top. It offers a nice view looking down to the reservoir. There are many trails you could follow to turn this into a longer walk in the area.
